the morning of my event
These are just some random shots from the morning of the Open Class Slope Style at the usasa Nationals in Copper Mountain Colorado.
The bus ride from the camper to the lifts.

Chillen, waiting of the girls to get done.

First lip of three.

Me and the giant drop in.

What a wild experience this was. No practice runs, an unfamiliar course and bad conditions!
I was trippen out to say the least while waiting for the girls to get done. I tried my best not to get nervous but............. it happened. couldnt shake it!

more stuff from colorado and nationals
the day before my event Jon Mon, Rusty and myself took a short trip to Loveland Ski Resort to get some pics and enjoy some different terrain!
Pics from Loveland Ski Area!

Jon Monson and I reminding you to ride safe!

The Monsoon getting wicked with the bboard grab. we cant figure out why it turned all blue tho!

Me enjoying the view!

cab blunt 270 over the down.

Nose Press.

Front Blunt on the C-Box.

Loveland Pass Tunnel. Trippy!!!!!!!!!!

Loveland is sick. We were there at an awkward time of the season, slushy new snow and melting park features, but sick none the less. A big thanks to the marketing and events guys that hooked up the tickets and the opportunity to ride a new venue.

Woodward at Copper
The next day I headed up to the Woodward At Copper complex to take the One Hit Wonder course and participate in a Drop In Session. The one hit wonder is just a safety course you have to take to make sure you don't wreck your self. Drop in sessions are hour and forty five minute session where you can use anything in the complex. This place is super fun and for sure is the progression of snow sports training.
Chillen with Rusty.

Front cork 7.

Double front side cork 9. the foam pit allows for anything!!!

The Woodward complex is sick. I was able to work on things that i never would have considered possible on snow. I actually took one of the tricks i learned in the pit and threw it down in my first run. If you get a chance to come here, DO IT !

Finally shredding / course inspection
After sleeping off most of my sickness Rusty and I headed out in search of what POW might be left!
We had to dig to find anything that was not completely tracked but we ended up with some descent shots!
getting waxed up!

Pow pop to landing.

Super slash up in the trees!

The last thing i wanted to do was push it too hard my first back from the sickness, so we just kind of got these easy shots then chilled. later on we headed to the slope style course to check it out, seeing as how I missed my one and only practice day while laid up in bed.
The first hit of 3.

Second hit of 3.

One of my Michigan homies, Oliver Dixon during his warm up.

After checking out the course, we just headed back to the A-Liner , made some food and got some sleep!

life in the camper/the first 3 days at nationals
Rusty got rested on the dive to CO and the first three days in the camper were Gnar fo sho!
We rolled into Copper around 4 a.m, set up the A-Liner, shut our eyes and fell right to sleep!
I woke up the next day feeling about 60% (which i figured was normal after driving 22 hours straight with little sleep). We went out and rode what was left of Coppers powder around the Super B lift and by the end of the day i was exhausted.
These are some pics of camper life in a Columbia North West A-Liner.
the camper and van.

The view from the back window of the camper! Awesome!!!!!

My wife pregnant wife Bre catching up on some sleep in the camper with the boys (Shaggy and Sexton).

This is what happens when your generator runs out of gas around midnight and its 10 degrees in Colorado.

After eating some food and taking a bit of a rest i decided to take advantage of the new Woodward At Copper facility.

For $10 you get an all day skate pass! The Bowl is killer, hard to find lines rite away, but after a little while you get the hang.

They also have a Mini set up on another level of the complex, this was the most fun thing for me. Easy to session and get in a groove.

I skated for a little over an hour and decided it was time to head back to the A-Liner for a good nights rest. At about 2 a.m that night i woke up with a CRAZY migraine! at first I thought it was just dehydration and lack of sleep, but as i tried to shake it off i realized it was not. Bre threw me in the van and we drove to the hospital in Frisco. At first the doctor was worried that my recent head trauma (when i smashed my face in 3 weeks prior) had been diagnosed wrong so he sent me in for some Cat Scans. The results came back normal which eased my anxiety for sure. The doctor then said that on the scans he could see that i had a "raging sinus infection" and that "the altitude had traped pressure inside my head" causing the migraine! This duder was super cool and dispite the fact that i had no insurance treated just as well as if i did (if you dont have insurance you will no what i mean!) . Hooked me up to an i.v for most of the night, pumped some saline in, some morphine and some valume and I was feeling normal! He sent me home with a bunch and perscriptions and told me to get rested and do well at nationals!

The next 30 hours were spent passed out in the camper trying to shake off the infection.
BUMMER!

on the road to nationals
So,
we took off from Charlevoix on the 31st of March and headed west for Copper Mountain Colorado!
Here are some pics from along the way.
Revolution - ghetto slider what ??

Shaggy and sexton (the boys) sleeping in the back of the van.

Some place in Illinois.

The drive was crazy! Rusty got food poisoning before we even got out of Michigan. We Spent like 4 or 5 hours in Saint Anthonys hospital in Hartland just to get him rehydrated. After that it was smooth sailing, an over night stop in Iowa then straight to Copper Mountain.
